Viper Auto-Mix System
For some years now we have offered the Viper 050 foam generator which was equipped to mix the VariMax HS:320 liquid foam concentrate and the water together "on the fly".
A gravity fed water source was hooked up to the generator and VariMax HS:320 was added to an internal foaming agent tank. There were separate controls for the water pump speed and the liquid foam concentrate speed.
The foaming agent and the water were Automatically Mixed together prior to the mixture being pressurized and forced into the foaming chamber.
As with any system there were positives and negatives to Auto Mixing.
Positives:
The operator no longer has to mix the foaming agent into a large water tank.
The dilution ratio (of HS: 320 / water) can be changed, in real time, as the machine runs.
Negatives:
The owner loses exact control of the amount of VariMax is being used. Anyone can go turn the foam concentrate pump up, and make extra creamy foam, at the owner’s expense.
There is no direct readout of the dilution ratio. You really never know if you are mixing at 1:320 or 1:278 or some other rate. You adjust the dilution ration based on the texture and appearance of the foam.
THE NEW VIPER AUTO-MIX [VAM] UNIT:
Our new Viper Auto-Mix [VAM] unit has been engineered to overcome some of these objections
- The Viper VAM unit is built as a separate optional unit.
- All of the Viper Turbo-Air Foam Generators (with the exception of the Viper LI’L Bit are pre engineered to accept an optional Viper VAM unit. The Turbo-Air systems can be ordered with a VAM unit or upgraded by the addition of VAM. The VAM unit is in a separate case which has temporary attachment points to the back of the Viper Case. The VAM unit is installed by adding fittings into the connectors on the lines of the Viper Turbo-Air Generator and afterword can be connected and disconnected without tools. (Custom Generators can be built with VAM inside the foam generator case. This requires a custom built, much larger and heavier case; and longer lead times.)
- The Viper VAM unit has a finer calibration scale which can be set to mix at a given dilution ratio, and cannot easily be secretly adjusted up and down during operation.
- The VariMax HS: 320 shipping pail is used as the internal tank. The operator simply places the shipping pail in the unit and secures it. The pickup tube goes into the shipping pail and the unit is ready to go.
- Two easy pre-engineered connectors in the liquid lines attach the VAM unit to any Viper Turbo-Air Foam Generator system.
